MAE Learning – ECU Tool Kit
Effective Date: 19 October 2026
1. Introduction
MAE Learning – ECU Tool Kit (“the App”) provides automotive engineering tools for CAN, CAN FD, LIN, UDS, OBD-II, DBC files, checksum calculations, signal analysis, and vehicle network engineering.
This Privacy Policy explains how the App handles information when you use the App.
2. Information We Collect
The App is designed to perform supported calculations and data processing locally on your device.
The current HTML application does not require an account or user registration. Its interface states that inputs remain within the browser session and that no backend is required for supported local tools.
Depending on how the Android version is packaged, the App may process information you enter, including:
- CAN and LIN identifiers and payloads.
- ECU diagnostic messages and trouble codes.
- Signal values and engineering calculations.
- DBC files and automotive network traces.
- Data entered into calculation and analysis tools.
These inputs are used to provide the requested functionality.
3. Data Storage and Sharing
The current web application performs supported operations locally and does not require a server to perform its core calculations.
We do not intentionally collect or transmit your engineering inputs through the current standalone HTML application.
Imported files and entered values are processed for the relevant features. Their retention depends on the app implementation and device environment.
The Android package, third-party libraries, advertising services, analytics tools, or other integrations, if added, might handle data differently. This policy must be updated if such services are introduced.
4. Permissions
The App should request only the Android permissions required for its implemented features.
If file import or export features require access to user-selected files, those files are used for the relevant functionality.
The App does not require access to your contacts, call history, or location for its core engineering calculations.
Actual permissions depend on the final Android package.
5. Third-Party Services
The current HTML source does not identify any required third-party analytics or advertising services.
If third-party services are integrated in a future release, their data practices and applicable privacy policies will be disclosed here or through appropriate in-app notices.
6. Children’s Privacy
The App is intended for educational and professional automotive engineering use. It does not intentionally collect personal information from children.
If the App’s distribution or audience changes, appropriate child privacy requirements will be reviewed.
7. Data Security
Processing data locally reduces the need to transmit engineering inputs to a remote server. You should still protect your device and avoid entering confidential vehicle, customer, or proprietary engineering information into environments you do not control.
No software or storage method guarantees absolute security.
8. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on your location and applicable law, you might have rights concerning personal information, including the right to request access, correction, or deletion.
Because the current standalone application does not require an account or centrally store engineering inputs, requests concerning locally stored data should generally be handled on your device. Any future server-side data collection will be addressed through an updated policy and appropriate contact details.
9. Changes to This Policy
This Privacy Policy might be updated when App features, data practices, legal requirements, or third-party integrations change.
The updated version will be published at the same privacy policy URL with a revised effective date.
